Bo Tan
Bo Tan received the B.Sc. degree in communications engineering in 2004 and the M.Sc. degree in circuits and systems in 2008 from the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Digital Communications from The University of Edinburgh, UK, in 2013. He became a research associate with the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, University College London in 2012. His research includes signal processing for radio signals in communications and radar systems, relays and MIMO in communications, wireless sensor networks, indoor positioning with opportunistic signals. He has also worked for startups and telecommunications operators on hardware design and commercial development. Bo was on secondment through the BITE Industry Exchange Award Scheme at u-blox, a leading provider of wireless and positioning modules, working on technical solutions and the business/marketing strategy for new indoor positioning solutions. Upon completion of his secondment, Bo continued working as a researcher in indoor positioning systems and is currently working on the SPHERE project at the University of Bristol. Bo has also maintained close links with UCL, where he is currently a visiting scholar.
