Yu Liu
Yu Liu is a first year PhD research student in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at University College London. He graduated with an MSc in Internet Engineering at UCL with distinction. He also acquired a BEng degree in Communication Engineering at Sun Yat-sen University in China. He has a wide range of industrial experience and has worked for leading technology companies in China and Thailand, such as Baidu and Loxley. His current research focuses on the development and usage of software defined radio and wireless mesh networks. Yu was granted a BITE Industry Exchange Award to carry out a secondment at Climate Connected Benefit Society (CCBS), a social enterprise which develops, campaigns, funds and delivers projects to improve the livelihoods of rural communities across the developing world. Upon completion of his secondment, Yu returned to UCL to continue his research in wireless mesh networks while concurrently being involved in a number of similar projects aimed at capturing agricultural sensor data across rural communities.
